Chad played with Andrew Ryan, and also saw next year's best picture nominee - Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie

Yo kickers and stickers, here we are comin at ya with another week of the Western Kick show. Chad recently traveled to this years Sundance Film Festival where he played drums and percussion with previous kick show guest Andrew Ryan. It was a good time. The shows were successful and he saw a few good films and events. One in particular, Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie, which is already getting rave reviews. I’m not sure if critics are raving about how good or bad it is. All I know is there is raving going on somewhere. We previewed segments coming up in next weeks show, and Scott played his favorite sound bites from the internet. And when I say favorite, I mean his absolute dreamy favorites that he listens to before he falls asleep and dreams of sweet nothings. Anyways, stay tuned for next week where we talk about an article which has us all intrigued. It’s basically about how LA club owners don’t get it anymore. This week’s song is by Height’s Alliance called Winter’s Here. Look for it on iTunes. Keep following us @Westernkick, and keep up on the website, which you’re already at, so all I’m doing is making you waste time by reading the rest of this sentence turtles goblins fishnets hot dog shaped balloons zip line over your mums house and steal her coffin.

Mark Roth on the plane with his traditional Japanese footwear.

Mark Roth has joined us again for another chat stew. He and the band always known as Greek Fire are/have headed to Japan recently to play as opener to Story of the Year. I hope all our Japanese listeners had the chance to see them as they most likely melted your faces into strawberry preservatives! I’m sure SOTY was good too. They probably only melted to about regular jam level. I don’t think I make sense. Nonetheless, I imagine the shows were great and everyone had a great time. Hopefully they can team up for some American dates soon. Anywho, Mark stopped in to chat with us about current events, past events, and more of the future events. It’s always a lovely time when we have our friends on the show. Keep following him at @TheMarkJoseph. Keep following us @WesternKick. And after all that, go plant a tree. Arbor day’s should be all year biotech’s (<–anyone with iPhone autocorrect gets that)

Mick O’Hare – Founding and former member of Western Kick and Neighborkid

Well isn’t this a delight. Happy New Year everyone. I hope the 2012 year of the Dragon graces you well. On this episode we have Mick O’Hare, the co-founding member of Western Kick, the other being Scott for all of those who aren’t up on your Western Kick history. I know your thinking, “I thought Chad was the only one who founded Western Kick and destroyed the Death Star” to that I would say sorry folks. Who is Scott McNew/Mick O’Hare and Captain Kirk. Mick is a St. Louis native but has recently relocated to Seattle leaving his other band Neighborkid behind. Scott and I had a nice little phone chat with Mick and learned more about the history of us (WESTERN KICK) and the history of Mick (GUITAR AND COOL HAIRCUTS). The only problem is that we promised we’d play a song out from Neighborkid, but SHMACEBOOK and other parties made it hard for me to get the song to play. So if you want to check out what we we’re going to play go here. Thanks again to Mick and stay tuned to the rest of this month, and forever. We’re going to live forever doing podcasts after drinking from the podcast youth fountain located on the second floor of the live forever rec. center. Tootles homies.

Merry Western Kickmass Show

Welcome to the very first annual Western Kickmass episode. This episode was one of the most historically important in our ever growing catalog of podcasting. We covered some great music news that you haven’t heard, such as Elvis Presley getting a grammy nomination posthumously. What will be the influence behind Paul Mccartney’s latest recordings, plus the top ten most popular Christmas songs of 2011, the truth behind Chad sharing why he’s a tender boy, what country has made Scott an honorary citizen a and so much more ridiculous antics.
Since this is our first annual Very Merry Western Kickmas episode, we have given you a free gift. Make sure to listen to every second to find out what gift Santa Claus is bringing on behalf of Western Kick.

We want to thank all you listeners so much for an incredible year and to all our insanely fun guest, Mark Roth, Chad Gerber, Spencer Blair (gunslunglow), Dominique Calvillo, Greg Thomas, Adam Russell, Chad Hively, Brittney Bouchard, Lady Nogrady, Andrew Ryan, Moon of Greek Fire. Moon Of Greek Fire and Story of the Year singing outside a grocery store in Toledo

We are thrilled to of had one of St. Louis’s most talented musicians, Moon (aka Philip Sneed) from Greek Fire and Story of the Year as our latest guest. This was the perfect episode for fans of Moon and even more perfect for those who are just now getting introduced to his successful career in the world of music. There’s a lot to learn in the almost hour we had with him. He explained when he first discovered music, to picking up the guitar and then finally stepped into the duties of a front man. It wasn’t long after that moment he began his 10+ year journey with Story Of The Year (in which you’ll hear some funny tour stories when host, Scott, managed to break the bus rules) to his new venture and love as the front man for the extremely talented rock band, Greek Fire, featuring past WK guest Mark Roth. This episode is a must listen for all humans who love music…especially if you are nosy and want to know everything about the talent creating the music. If you’ve wondered what has inspired the words and music behind Greek Fire then listen to Moon share it all in this week’s Western Kick show.

For those (everyone) who need more Greek Fire then watch all their videos on youtube. There are live videos, full songs, and even rare behind the scenes footage including their brand new Acoustic Session Series. Add them @ GreekFireTube.

Follow Moon on twitter, facebook, and myspace.

To learn even more about the find bands that Moon is involved with then make sure to check out the incredible interviews with GF bassist Mark Roth and the bassist for D.R.U.G.S., Adam the skull Russell. They were our featured guest a few months ago. This is the St Louis, Missouri, Rock N Roll series.. by accident.

Andrew Ryan is White Chocolate and a glorious singer/songwrite from greater Los Angeles California

This week we had Andrew Ryan in the studio to talk about his life in music. We discussed his beginnings, the middle parts, and then some future stuff. He has played all over the U.S., his songs featured on various television programs and sold Chad a rad 1988 Ford Bronco plus his backup guitar is a Seagull. Be stoked listeners because he performed a song called Parachute that will be on his next album coming out in 2012. He has a music video coming out very soon for a song called Sugarlaced. I can’t remember what else we talked about, but I do know that we had some laughs and that we will have him back again.

In the mean time you can find his 2007 release Summer and Fall as well his 2010 EP release, Waiting For Paris on iTunes.

Make sure to follow him here @andrewryanmusic, his website at AndrewRyanMusic.com, and become homies with him on facebook.

Keep following us @Westernkick and tell your friends. We like having your friends listen to us. Who’s ready for Christmas?

Lady Nogrady on her album cover Hearthrob Killer

This week on the show we had the pop singer Nicole Nogrady a.k.a. Lady Nogrady, whose career is definitely taking off at the moment. Joining her in our conversation was Spencer “Gunslunglow” Blair, whose back with us and whose job recently has been to produce Lady Nogrady. We talked about the beginning of Nicole’s career all the way to now in which she spends her days doing stand in work in Hollywood, and at night records and performs under the moniker Lady Nogrady, not to be confused with all the other “Lady’s” in the music industry. (yeah I know that’s not the correct grammar but get over yourself already) And yes, I did ask her the question and she responded very well. To which led us to her idea of the “Lady” tour. I think that could work. All in all, Nicole said some very inspiring things about music and the hard work it takes to perfect your skills. So join band and choir kids, it’s not lame anymore. If you want any chance at being on American Idol, The Voice, X Factor, The Singing Bee, America’s Got Talent, Glee, Sing, Singer, Sing sing sing, Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful and can sing, The Z Figure, Check this out Autotune, or just like karaoke in general, get into your music classes NOW! Brittney Bouchard the beautiful singer was guest on the Western Kick show

This week we had the lovely female Brittney Bouchard on the show. She also brought along her guitar player Johnathan, Jonathan? I hope I spelled that right. Anyways, Brittney’s been through a lot when it comes to her works as an actress, model, singer, girlfriend who’s been secretly using her relationships as songwriting gold mines. All in a weeks work in LA let me tell ya. But we also have our first live performance this week! She played a fresh song called Addicted To The Heartbreak (see, what did I tell you.) We unfortunately had to cut this podcast short, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless. We’re going to have them back real soon. So go to brittneybouchard.com to find everything Brittney. I apologize now for Howard Downs being back on the show. We only do it out of sympathy. Keep following us on twitter @Westernkick, and get ready for next week!
